SIGMA INSURANCE BROKERS SA is an insurance brokerage company founded in 2005, on a landmark point of Serafimides family history in the insurance market, with the paradoxical goal of remaining and surviving as a small “boutique” office, based on the provision of personal and qualitative insurance services, specialized in the risk management (property, business interruption, liability, personnel) of small, medium and big enterprises, as well as health insurance.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The tradition of Serafimides family in the insurance industry begins in 1938 when Georgios Serafimides (1917-1992) started his professional career in Alexandria of Egypt, where he was working for English insurance companies. In 1955, he came to Athens working as an executive for several insurance companies, and from 1967 until 1988 was the legal representative of the Dutch insurance company “New Rotterdam”.
After a career of 50+ years in insurance companies, in 1990 the shift to the intermediary sector is the turning point in the family tradition, with Eugene Serafimides operating as insurance agent in cooperation with selected insurance companies. Along with the valuable contribution of Diakomina Serafimidou who had been working in this industry since 1965, there was continues growth ending up to the establishment of the agent company E.SERAFIMIDES & SIA O.E. in 1996, with the contribution of George Serafimides (3 rd generation).
In 2005, “SIGMA INSURANCE BROKERS SA” is founded under the administration of George Serafimides. Three years later, simultaneously with the completion of the 70- year familial tradition in the private insurance market, our activity expands to Bulgaria, with the scope of supporting Greek investments in the region of Balkans.
PRESENT & FUTURE
Since 2020, our activity has entered a new phase aiming to serve and maintain our existing portfolio (our loyal clientele) and developing new selective partnerships with professionals and business executives who understand that qualitative service derives from dedicated individuals, not from impressive figures, especially in an era of institutional decline and depreciation.
